Learning of author Colleen McCullough’s death today made me recall her book The Thorn Birds. The miniseries based on her novel of the lovely Meggie Cleary’s doomed love of parish priest, Ralph de Bricassart, inspired me to read the book.

‘Clifford The Big Red Dog’ Creator Bridwell Dies At 86 (NPR)

Last night, I came across the news that author Norman Bridwell passed away Friday, December 12, 2014. Bridwell created the lovable Clifford the Big Red Dog series. Many kiddos, myself included, learned and enjoyed Bridwell’s “edutainment.” Access NPR’s piece about Bridwell by clicking here.
