Original illustration of Jules Verne’s Nautilus engine room | Wikipedia

Earlier this year, I signed up for Herding Cats & Burning Soup’s New To You 2015 Challenge. Down the road, I realized Steampunk has been on my bucket list ever came across the term. According to the Oxford English Dictionary, Steampunk is a genre of science fiction that typically features steam-powered machinery rather than advanced technology. Thus, I request recommendations for good Steampunk that I can finish before 1 January 2016. Please add titles in the comments. I can’t wait!

The U.S. celebrates Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month (APAHM) in May. In honor of this celebration, I collected books with APAHM-related themes as well as authors of Asian-Pacific heritage. Check out my 2014 shelfie. What books deserve a spot on the shelf?

TBTB – Ann Rinaldi’s A Break With Charity

A Break with Charity: A Story about the Salem Witch Trials | Goodreads

After reading this book, I tried to find as many books by Rinaldi as possible. Of course, I discovered other wonderful historical fiction authors but Rinaldi remains the one who introduced me novels about the past.

TBTB – Clifford the Big Red Dog

The original, 1963 cover of Clifford the Big Red Dog. “[I] was shocked when it was accepted for publication, because I’d never written anything before,” says Norman Bridwell. Scholastic

One of my all-time favorite reads was of this friendly, red dog. Later on, Clifford made his way onto small-screen edutainment station PBS. I hope late author Norman Bridwell’s legacy touches the lives of future generations.
